A patient underwent surgical revision of infected osteosynthesis of the proximal part of femur one day ago.

The patient presented with dyspnea, tachypnea 20 breaths/minute and no fever. Oxygen therapy using a nasal cannula (3 l/min) was necessary. Spastic phenomena could be heard from the distance; auscultation revealed weakened breathing bilaterally. No crackles were revealed. There was no expectoration. Blood pressure 85/50 mmHg.
