A patient underwent partial hemiarthroplasty of the hip because of fracture, and cement was used to fix the prosthesis into femoral bone. He was stable during surgery performed in general anaesthesia.

At the end of anaesthesia, hypotension developed, and the administration of catecholamines was necessary. The instability progressed into bradycardia, and pharmacological resuscitation with adrenalin had to be started. The patient was left intubated and transferred to the ICU.

 

Echocardiography was immediately performed at ICU with the following findings:
