Admission of a patient suffering from respiratory insufficiency (hypoxemia, hypercarbia, respiratory distress). A history of asthma. BMI is referred (by the patient) to be 45; however, his weight is underestimated at least by 20 %. On the next day, the patient´s weight was found to be 160 kg (with BMI 60).
A dry non-productive cough is present. The patient went through a viral respiratory infection recently. Lab results: leucocytosis over 20000/ul, CRP 78 mg/l.
Lung ultrasound was performed:
