A certain amount of air got retained in subcutaneous tissue during drainage. Small emphysema of soft tissue developed. Small air bubbles between the probe and pleural cavity may be an acoustic obstacle during ultrasonography of pleura and interpretation of its dynamics. Thus, it is always important to visualise bat sign and look for the real pleural line according to its anatomical relationship to ribs:
